The powder coated aluminum frame is also a beautiful contrast to patio stonework, and the posts are so sleek they don’t intrude on the view. I choose the optional hood to protect the fabric from the elements and bird droppings when it’s retracted. It’s an additional cost but well worth it compared the cost of an additional fabric canopy. The remote control and ability to control the awning and set timers using my smartphone or tablet is a great addition for any retractable awning too.
