Our new home has no shade trees, so we checked things out on the internet, and went with the motorized Eclipse model by Eclipse. The installation went smoothly but was very expensive at over $2,000 from the Eclipse dealer for a 20-foot long awning. I wish I would have purchased factory direct by not ordering from a dealer as it would have saved us a lot of Benjamins. The awning operates with the push of a button, and since we didn’t want to worry about Eclipse sensors failing as we’d read, we didn’t get any. The lateral arms are thinner than I expected, but they’re rated for 30mph winds, so hopefully, they will last more than a few years.
