Eastern Awnings manufactures retractable awnings in the United States. It is owned by Stephen Lukos and was first established by his father, Simon Lukos in 1961 as Eastern Aluminum. They were both a wholesale distributor and retailer of aluminum awnings.
It was in 1996 when Eastern opened a 37,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Today, they offer these retractable roofs and awnings to protect customers from solar exposure when necessary:
- Sunflexx Retractable Patio Awnings and Retractable Deck Awnings intend to extend the usability of a deck or patio. The shade awning is made of fabric and is specialized and patented with a urethane compression shoulder joint, allowing the awning arm to flex as pressure increases from either direction. The awning is a roll up, and operates by an electrical push button (remote transmitter) or hand crank.
- SunScape Retractable Patio and Deck Awning feature stainless steel fasteners and cable arms. It also has heavy duty coated components. Customers are able to choose from hundreds of fabrics and a valance accent.
- Mini and Maxi Retractable Window Awnings are all aluminum screen operated by a gear or optional motor. The compact style Mini roof with its window awning hood is available up to a width of 10 feet. While, Maxi is for larger windows which can span widths up to 30 feet.
The company also offers other models of awnings that are extended and retracted using manual or motorized operation.
