My husband bought us a KE Outdoor Sunshelter Elite Plus model – expensive for what you get! Our deck faces southwest, and this model offers something called “R-Pitch,” which means it can be angled easier to block the sun. We’ve used it for a couple of days, but it’s one more thing to go wrong. Too many moving parts mean more to break. The shade is nice, though. Since we didn’t purchase the optional wind or rain sensor, we try to close the canopy if the wind gets up as too many of the reviews expressed wind damage issues. The same goes for the rain. Metal and fabric aren’t as good as a porch roof, but I know for sure a porch roof costs a whole lot more and requires a costly building permit.

We’ve had our Regal awning for 10 days. It’s a KE Outdoor SunShelter and shades the deck and inside of the house too. Being retired and home a lot, we open it in the morning and close it every night. The shade makes it more comfortable on hot sunny days. The white aluminum frame has a couple of scratches from the install, but I‘ll touch them up in the fall. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago when it was really humid, and the fabric sagged. We keep it closed if the wind comes up or there’s rain forecast, but humidity? Not a cheap product, so I’m hoping the fabric tightens up in less humid conditions.

Our Triumph SunShelter awning by KE Durasol was installed about 3 months ago. We’d read the testimonials and reviews. Some were good others weren’t. The canopy is approximately 16’x 14’, which fully covers our patio. The motorized cover is wall mounted and works with a remote. The charcoal-colored aluminum frame hopefully won’t show dirt like our last one which was white. It’s nice to have a choice of more than 500 fabric colors, but less would do. The Triumph’s more expensive than most, so hopefully, it lasts. Unfortunately, the motor seems to be getting louder, and the lateral arms are creaking when they open or close. I’m going to try some spray grease as some reviews suggested.
