We have a large wood-framed house on Long Island and our Monza motorized retractable pergola I must say is without a doubt the best investment we have made. The frame is not aluminum (like most) and is real wood which provides a classical pergola appearance. We chose waterproof Ferrari 502 fabric in a neutral color so that it seamlessly appears like it is part of the home. The pergola protects my family and our outdoor furniture from sun fading ultraviolet rays and heavy rain/hail and allows us to use our bbq and outdoor living kitchen 24/7/365 with the exception of snow of course. Looking for a retractable awning can be like looking for a needle in a haystack! There are so many choices! I spent hours reading testimonials and checking consumer ratings of products, manufacturers, and installers. I bought the Venezia, a cassette system. It is great because it is fully enclosed so no fabric and no hardware shows. It is sleek and very modern looking. Very beautiful product! The Palermo Plus is excellent quality and very heavy duty. I expect to get a lot of years out of it. I am really happy with the selections I made. There were hundreds of fabrics to choose from and many options for operation of the awning. I got a wind sensor as well as a rain AND sun sensor. The width was made to the exact size that I needed and there were many projections to chose from. I also chose the frame color. Very customizable product. Didn’t see this many options from any other vendor.
